Kenneth Weinstein has practiced architecture since 1971 in the Washington Metropolitan area.
After graduating from The University of Kansas, he joined the firm of Cohen and Haft Architects (a.k.a. CHK Architects and Planners). Specializing in residential architecture, he became a Principal in 1986 with his primary responsibility directing the firms Residential Design Studio. His contact with many of Washington’s leading residential developers gained him an expertise in programming, design and construction of single family homes of varying size, style and complexity.
He has managed a staff of up to 30 architects in his studio and is responsible for many thousands of dwelling units in the Washington Metropolitan area. Under his direction, the firm won many Finest for Family Living Awards from the building community. Mr. Weinstein left CHK in November of 1995 to establish his own practice and continue his career in residential architecture.
Mr. Weinstein has received the Distinguished Service Award from the Potomac Valley Chapter of the AIA for his work with the Montgomery County Student Construction Trade Foundation, a non-profit organization affiliated with the public school system that provides a real life hands-on educational experience for high school students interested in the construction industry.
